A Day in the Life of a Verity Student
Come along and follow Brad Winsted, an ’08 Verity business student from Georgia, as he goes about a normal day as an onsite Verity student.
6:30AM — Brad starts his day with personal devotions on his bed.
7:15AM — Brad and Chris get a boost of energy from the coffee served at breakfast.
7:45AM — Every chapel starts out with singing a hymn before going into announcements and a message.
8:00AM — On Monday mornings, Brad leads his accountability group of five guys. Accountability groups provide a chance for students to quote their weekly memory verses, discuss what they’ve been reading, and pray for each other in a small-group setting.
9:00AM — Brad spends the time before class studying in the spacious lobby.
10:00AM — Today starts Human Resource Management class, a test that just the business students have to take.
11:00AM — Classes usually last the entire morning.
12:00PM — Meals here are always healthy and tasty! Today’s menu is Mexican.
1:00PM — After lunch, Brad meets with Amos Archer, his Program Advisor, to go over some material covered in class.
1:30PM — For part of the afternoon, Brad chooses to audit a class being taught on the history of Vietnam.
3:00PM — The rest of the afternoon is personal study time for Brad.
5:30PM — Mealtimes are always fun times of fellowship!
7:00PM — Students have the evenings free to do whatever they want to do. During the winter months, Brad enjoys playing ping-pong with the other students.
8:00PM — Brad is also involved in the Verity Chorale.
9:00PM — The Verity Chorale meets once about once a week and performs at special events.
10:00PM — Curfew for Brad is at 9:15PM. He spends the last part of the day studying and talking with his roommates before going to bed.
