Nutritional Science

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).

Christians often consider the spiritual aspects of life more important than the physical. It is true that “the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (II Cor. 4:18). However, God has given each one of us a physical body that is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14), and He expects us to take care of that gift. Also, ministering to people’s physical health can open doors for addressing their spiritual health. A large part of Christ’s own ministry was meeting people’s physical needs and thus providing opportunities to speak to them about their spiritual needs. With these principles in mind, Verity’s Nutritional Science program seeks to provide students with training in proper nutrition and in the health needs of the human body. Thus prepared, they will have a foundation for a ministry that can reach beyond guiding people in physical nutrition to pointing them to the Spiritual nourishment found in Christ and His Word.
